Laura Stuart

Laura is a lifelong performer. But unless she's in front of the camera, she's never been one to stay on script. 

It started early, with her parents' unsuccessful pleas that she “be appropriate.” She's mellowed some. But she'll still shock a stuffy crowd with a raunchy joke.

Laura discovered early that the spotlight was her natural element. She studied acting with Kids Acting and Bright Lights Acting in Austin. She pursued acting and modeling in her teens and 20s, but stepped away from the career when she found that her unconventional, “ethnically ambiguous” look was a roadblock. Expectations are different today, and Laura's embracing the possibilities. But she still won't give you a straight answer if you ask her “what she is.”

Laura minored in theater at an all-women's college in New England. She majored in Dunkin' Donuts coffee, and social and political studies.

After college, Laura obtained a master's degree in spiritual psychology at the University of Santa Monica. Friends and coworkers are often jealous of Laura's advanced level of spiritual evolution. She's getting used to it. She continued to live and work in Southern California as an actress, jewelry designer, personal assistant and nanny, until moving back to ATX in 2017.

She's a student at the Carol Hickey Acting Studio (CHAS) in the Master Program. Laura is thrilled to be booking jobs in her hometown of Austin, Tejas. Of all the experiences she's had, it's definitely one of them.
